The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has accused the main opposition party in the state – Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) – of sponsoring a protest.
The protest was staged in the commercial city on Monday, as posters and billboards belonging to the APC governorship candidate were allegedly vandalized.
The APC spokesperson in the state, Mr Joe Igbokwe, said in a press conference on Tuesday, that the protest was mobilised because the PDP has no hope of manipulating the coming elections, adding that Nigerians now have a strong will to effect change.
However in a swift reaction, the PDP spokespersman, Mr Ganiyu Taofeek, condemned the allegation, saying “it is very unfortunate that people who have the right to assemble and express themselves will now be tagged as being sponsored, by who? Is that the issue? That is irrelevant. READ MORE HERE
