APC: Fayose’s Congratulatory Message Belated

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  in Ekiti State on Wednesday lashed out at the Governor Ayodele Fayose for congratulating Major Gen Muhammadu Buhari  on his victory in the presidential election held last weekend, as scores of jubilant APC members took to the streets of Ado-Ekiti in celebration.
The celebrants, among whom were students, commercial motorcycle riders and artisans, seized the ever-busy Ado-Ekiti-Akure Highway along Ajilosun area as early as 5:30a.m. in apparent defiance to the dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed on the state late Tuesday by the governor.
The jubilant crowd, numbering over  1,000, brandished  brooms, which is the APC’s symbol while many others used the large sized-posters of Buhari as garments.
The group’s spokesman,  Mr. Okunola Olumide, said there was no known law in Nigeria that forbids people from rejoicing over legitimate accomplishments such as “naming ceremony, promotion as well as winning of elections,” saying the curfew imposed by Fayose was an act of lawlessness.
Okunola described Fayose’s congratulations to Buhari as rather belated, saying his stiff opposition to the APC Candidate’s aspiration was laced with hatred and death-wish intention. READ MORE HERE
