- State govt expresses surprise at defection

Less than 48 hours to the presidential election, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, wednesday decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the rival All Progressives Congress (APC).
Olanusi, 73, announced his defection in a three-paragraph statement he personally signed.
The announcement of the deputy governor’s defection came as the executive council meeting of the state was ongoing without him (Olanusi) in attendance.
In the statement, the deputy governor said he took the decision to chart a new way forward in line with the unfolding political development in the country and especially in the state.
Olanusi also alleged marginalisation in the scheme of things in the governance of the state as well as his teeming followers. READ MORE HERE
